2025 Year-End Appeal Newsletter

BLESSINGS & GROWTH

As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect with grateful hearts on all God has done at Sylvan Hills Christian Service Camp this year. It has truly been a season of blessing, growth, and powerful kingdom impact.

More than 300 campers attended our winter and summer camps. We rejoice in the many baptisms and rededications that took place over those weeks. Our theme for 2025, “Live Like Christ, Serve With Love,” was seen daily in worship, in teachings, and family groups. Every camper was reminded that following Jesus means stepping into a life of both devotion and service. Each life changed is a testimony to God’s work through our mission.

Hands & Hearts at work

We completed our “Echo The Word, Not The Room!” campaign in 2025. Thanks to our generous supporters and the incredible crew of volunteers who researched, prepared, and installed every acoustic panel. The Lodge is now sound-treated and ready for worship and teaching. What a gift to our campers and guest groups and a beautiful example of what it looks like to serve with love!

This year we were blessed with over 100 volunteers who sacrificially filled roles as camp staff, teachers, junior counselors, worship leaders, reset crews, kitchen helpers, and more. With only three part-time employees working behind the scenes, nearly every part of the Sylvan Hills ministry, from programs to facility upkeep is fulfilled by servant-hearted volunteers.

We also want to recognize the fantastic turnout at our Fall Workday. Many hands came ready to work, and together we knocked out projects from our to-do list to prepare for the winter season. We are deeply grateful for each person who shows up to support Sylvan Hills with their time, skill, and love.

Building for tomorrow

Looking ahead, we are prayerfully focused on updating our aging audio/visual equipment in the chapel, which has served us many years through all sorts of weather and heavy use. Replacing this equipment will allow worship and teaching to continue with excellence. If you would like to donate toward a specific piece of equipment, simply note that with your donation.

We are also celebrating an important financial milestone: the Lodge mortgage has officially dipped below $367,000 (from the original loan of $550,000). We invite you to prayerfully consider giving toward the Lodge Fund so we can continue reducing the principal without drawing from operational funds that support camper programs.

Step into the new year with us

As you consider your year-end giving, please join us in whichever way God leads:

    • Become a monthly donor to sustain camp year-round
    • Give toward the Chapel A/V Christmas Wishlist
    • Support the Lodge mortgage payoff fund
    • Volunteer your time and skills for projects and events
    • Lift the camp in faithful prayer as we step into the year ahead

Your generosity—whether financial, physical, or spiritual—helps equip campers to live like Christ and serve with love every day.

God is at work at Sylvan Hills, and we are excited to see where He will lead us in 2026. Thank you for being part of this ministry and for helping us continue to teach, train, and build up the next generation of Sylvan Hills campers.

With gratitude and anticipation,

Jared Moore
Board Chairman

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
